Discover Wild Iceland
9th Landscape photography book by: Rafn Sig,-
The Art of Landscape Photography assumes a good working knowledge of the technical basics and have the feeling for the subject.
The light changes within seconds and the best light may occur only long enough for a single frame, Landscape photographers must recognize those moments While the sunrise and sunset hours provide recognized opportunities, the keen photographer will also see that magic light during daytime.
Rafn Sig,- is an experienced Landscape and Nature photographer who have focused on Documenting the RAW Nature of Iceland for more than 30 years now.
As a native photographer he feels responsible to leave all he can behind to show the future generation how it looked like in Iceland, with his photography before the small vulnerable island gets devastated or tramped down”
This is his contribution.
100 pages – Size: 28,7 x 22,2 cm – Hundreds of photos
If you like, you can be part on his journey of Documenting Iceland

I have had the honor of testing the Photo developing software “Photolemur 2.3 beta”.
This developing software is somewhat amazing for its simplicity, only one click and that’s it.
And if I tell you the truth it develops the photos really nicely if you are only going to use it for facebook, twitter and other related media. What bothered me most is how small the window is on my screen.
Well Let’s face it guys, it’s neither Lightroom nor Photoshop with all its complexed workflows and layers; it’s just a one click developer that does it all for low resolution medias.
Because of its simplicity you can’t put Keyword tags, Title, Subjects, Caption, Copy names or stuff like that to the photo but it delivers the max photo size and information about the camera and lens but only in 72 dpi (not 300 dpi for printing)
I noticed also when I took the developed picture into Photoshop I saw it did not Remove the “Chromatic Aberration” or corrected the photo by the “Lens Profile” among other things.
So my conclusion is that this is an excellent software for people with no skills in developing but want to put nice photos to the low resolution social networking places.

I head the honor of being chosen among few other Nordic Professional Photographers by the world’s leading color processing company @Datacolor (www.datacolor.com) to try out and review their Spyder5CAPTURE PRO color calibrate system.
Spider5CAPTURE PRO provides all the essentials needed to manage colors from capture to editing in our photography workflow. Calibrate our camera and lenses with SpyderLENSCAL; use SpyderCUBE to control contrast and white balance; control color balance with SpyderCHECKR; and calibrate the monitor with Spyder5ELITE.
It all started for several days ago when I had a nice letter from Mr. Dave Callaghan asking me the following: “ I’d like you to test out the product, in your day to day work and feedback to us your thoughts, it’s benefits and how you think it could be improved.” as a representative photographer for Iceland. I thought it was one of these scams you often get through our e-mail but apparently he assured me that it was not. Now I have received a conformation from UPS that a package including the Spyder5Capturing Pro is on the way to me so I can enlighten it with certainty.
I have often thought of getting me there color correction instruments to secure the right colors throughout my workflow, just so I could be certain that my colors are correct on my camera, screen and printing and luckily I’m getting one now. It will be cool to know they will be soon.
I will write more about it when I get the package in my hand. Oooooh I’m excited.
Dear Dave and you guys at Datacolor. I’m honored and humble for choosing me for this task.
What is Datacolor?

ICELAND – A Photographic Impression
I had the pleasure of guiding 8 great Irish photographers on a Photo Workshop tour from Snæfellsnes in the West, to the Ice Lagoon (Jökulsárlón) in the South.
They decide to put together a book with a selection of the images from that tour – using the Book module in Lightroom – Each photographer put six photographs in the book so it looks really beautiful and unique. I really love the front page as I’m on it (if you count the shadows you will count nine)
Dear friends Michael Delahunty, Chris Ducker, Gerald Kelleher, John Kent, Ronnie Kilkenny, Peter MacMenamin, Fergal O’Callaghan and Charlie O’Neill, thank you so much for the honor of being one of the few who own this book and for absolutely great trip. Really looking forward to see you soon again.

Discover Wild Iceland – Glacier Walk on Sólheimajökull
The other day my son Thorsteinn took me for a guided hiking tour on the icefall Sólheimajökull. I really must say he is goooooood . . . . and what an experience. I really can recommend a tour like this as this is something you will never forget.
It’s like entering into another dimension, Woow.
Thorsteinn has worked in the tourism industry as a guide since 2013 were he specializes in activity based tours such as wilderness hiking, caving, glacier hiking and climbing. Having a considerable interest in geology and history he usually has a story ready up his sleeve.
“It‘s not just about getting there, but also about getting back so you can brag about it”
His official education Includes:
– Mountaineering (F.A.S.)
– Wilderness Aid ( Landsbjörg)
– Adventure sport certificate (Thompson Rivers Uni./Keilir)
– Wilderness first responder (Wilderness medical association)
Soon, Discover Wild Iceland will offer private tours on Sólheimajökull where Thor (Thorsteinn) will be your private guide and if you are interested just send us an e-mail to email@example.com and we will send you a quota and tell you all about it.
